Active Hope: The Work That Reconnects

ACTIVE HOPE

The Work That Reconnects

The Work That Reconnects helps us discover our true

inter-connectedness with each other and all of life

2020 Dates TBA

Facilitated by Marc Lapin

The activities and practices have been developed by Joanna Macy and many collaborators since the late 1970s and bring us together to experience the fullness of our reactions to what is happening with life on Earth. We draw upon nature and humans—past, present and future—to gain inspiration, strength and courage for the work of making a difference in our communities and all of life. Using imaginative role play, meditative movement, dance, contemplation and simple ritual, the Work That Reconnects’ engaging processes provide tools for helping us thrive in a world of challenges, crises, and immense beauty and complexity.

The half-day workshop will end around 1 p.m. and will encompass the Work That Reconnects spiral—gratitude, honoring our pain for the world, seeing with new eyes, going forth. For those who desire and are able to participate in a full day, we will create a Council of All Beings in the afternoon. This lovely and powerful ritual provides an opportunity to connect deeply with our humanity and other-than-human life forms.

“When people of the future look back at this historical moment,
they will see more clearly than we can now
how revolutionary our actions were.
Perhaps they’ll call it the time of
The Great Turning.”
– Joanna Macy
