Metta Tea: Tulsi

$8.00$15.00

Ingredients: Tulsi

The fragrance of Metta Earth is embodied in the fragrance of tulsi. Growing abundantly in the garden (it takes lots of garden space to feed all of the tulsi lovers!), providing a tasty treat to bees in the warm summer air, hanging to dry in the barn loft, brewing in the kitchen every day, held in the hands of rosy-cheeked souls sitting on the porch after a long day of tending the farm. Considered a sacred plant in India and a long-held favorite of Metta Earthlings, tulsi is a steadfast friend and a supportive ally, there for you in all seasons.

We harvest tulsi throughout the summer, pinching off the tops of the plants and hanging them to dry in our warm barn loft. We “garble” these dried plants by snipping them into pieces small enough for tea.

To make a cup of tulsi tea, heat water on a stovetop until just before it reaches a boil. Pour hot water into your drinking vessel of choice and infuse 1 tablespoon of Tulsi Tea via a loose-leaf strainer, or strain the plant matter out after steeping for at least 10 minutes. Be sure to cover your mug while tea is steeping so that none of the aromatic goodness escapes.
